News — Measles cases are on the rise in the U.S. with cases reported in Alaska, Georgia, New York City, Rhode Island and Texas, according to the CDC.
Most of the individuals who have the virus were not vaccinated against the measles.
Health officials are urging parents to get their children vaccinated. The CDC recommends children get two doses of the MMR shot, getting the first dose at 12 to 15 months.
Faculty experts at the George Washington University are available to offer insight about respiratory season and the uptick in the measles. To schedule an interview with an expert, please contact Katelyn Deckelbaum, [email protected].
