SMU Solution May Be to Low-Cost, Long-Lasting Renewable Batteries for Electric Vehicles
Southern Methodist University

Lithium-sulfur batteries have never lived up to their potential as the next generation of renewable batteries for electric vehicles and other devices. But 鈥婼MU mechanical engineer Donghai Wang and his research team have found a way to make these Li-S batteries last longer 鈥 with higher energy levels 鈥 than existing renewable batteries. The research team has been able to prevent Li-S batteries from producing an unwanted side effect known as polysulfide dissolution that appears over time, shortening their lifespan.

Does transparency help or hurt business dominated by one-time transactions?
Southern Methodist University

For business owners that don鈥檛 regularly get repeat customers, such as contract workers or real estate agents, does being transparent about past business make them more or less likely to make a sale that benefits both them and the buyer? Economists from SMU and the University of Miami did a study to figure that out.
