The Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) is pleased to announce that the 2025 ABRF Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Award will be presented to Dr. George Langford, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Syracuse University and founder of PAIR-UP. PAIR-UP provides comprehensive workshops each year on imaging technologies and imaging analysis for African American scientists.

The Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) is pleased to announce the selection of David Deamer, Ph.D., Research Professor of Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz as the next recipient of the ABRF Award, which recognizes Outstanding Contributions to Biomolecular Technologies.

The ABRF Core Rigor and Reproducibility Committee (CCoRRe) was selected as one of five winners of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Rigor Champions Prize for their work to raise awareness and promote adoption of rigorous and transparent practices within the core facility community.

The ABRF DEI Award was created to honor, celebrate, and give due recognition to individuals, groups, or organizations whose work has contributed to a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable scientific community. Previous recipients include the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), 500 Women Scientists, and Dr. Tshaka Cunningham.

ABRF (the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities) disagrees with the Supreme Court鈥檚 decision not only because of its impact on black, brown, and indigenous students who seek opportunities at elite universities, but also because of the ripple effect this decision will have in the way diversity, equity and accessibility are understood in a country that still grapples with a history and a present challenge of racial injustice.

This year鈥檚 meeting focuses on Driving Collaborative Science, and features dozens of sessions on timely topics on the latest technology and strategies for shared research resources.
