Discovery of Skin Cell Function Could Open Doors to Improved Burn Healing

To gain insight into how cells respond to burn wounds, researchers beamed lasers at engineered microtissues. They uncovered that cells called fibroblasts could clear out damaged collagen from the edge of the wound through a cellular process named phagocytosis.
