A $1.7 million study, funded by Shingrix vaccine maker GlaxoSmithKline, has enabled Daniel Harris, assistant professor of epidemiology, to gain access to electronic health records for three million nursing home residents to examine the real-world effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing shingles, incident dementia and stroke.
