Researchers from the National University of Singapore have designed and constructed a fully solar-driven, autonomous atmospheric water generator, incorporating two layers of a novel aerogel (black sponge-like material) that they had developed. This setup showcases the aerogel’s practicality for facilitating continuous freshwater production — a feature beneficial in underdeveloped regions or areas lacking necessary clean-water infrastructure.
