More than 2,600 engineers and scientists will convene at the 2013 Congress, the Society's largest technical conference, to discuss and demonstrate new tools, methodologies, and processes that are advancing engineering across global industries. In addition to manufacturing, topics include aerospace technology, dynamic systems, safety engineering, and transportation.

- The Inspire Innovation Workshop, a STEM program bringing together engineers and teachers in grades 4-8 to consider the best instructional methods and practices for connecting the fundamentals of engineering design to the math and science curriculum. - ASME Social Meet-up for Early-career Engineers, a networking event for engineers in the early stages of their careers. (Sunday, Nov. 17, 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.)
- Advanced Manufacturing Impact Forum, including the keynote panel and a series of presentations which will explore the emerging field of additive manufacturing and the role of the 3D printer in producing a variety of products on demand. (Monday, Nov. 18, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
