However, they need careful planning to be effective. A new GIS-based tool, combined with varied experts' input, has identified the best shoreline stabilization methods for the Florida Keys. Findings show that about 8% of coastline is suitable for nature-based or hybrid solutions, while 25.1% is unsuitable, and 67% is already vegetated or naturally protected. The tool integrates data on shoreline types, environmental factors and wave exposure to guide decisions on shoreline protection. /articles//images/uploads/2025/03/17/67d880858fcd4_florida-keys-study-getty.jpg,/images/uploads/2025/03/17/67d880a0964a1_Florida-Keys-Shoreline-Suitablility.jpg Florida Atlantic University New ACS Led Study Finds Wildfires Pose Challenges to Cancer Care /articles/new-acs-led-study-finds-wildfires-pose-challenges-to-cancer-care/?sc=c18 /articles/new-acs-led-study-finds-wildfires-pose-challenges-to-cancer-care/?sc=c18 Tue, 11 Mar 2025 11:00:00 EST All Journal Â鶹´«Ã½,Cancer,Climate Science,Healthcare,Public Health,Hurricanes,Tornadoes,Wildfires Medical News Research Results <img src="/legacy/image.php?image=/images/uploads/2025/03/10/67cf16aa26f86_NOGUEIRAWildfiresJNCIgraphicMarch2025.jpg&width=100&height=150" alt="Â鶹´«Ã½ image" />A new national study led by American Cancer Society (ACS) and Harvard T.H.
