PAUL, Minn. 鈥 Actor Jerry Mathers is the host of the American Academy of Neurology Foundation鈥檚 latest patient education video and guidebook, Diabetic Nerve Pain: A Guide for Patients and Families. The video and guidebook are aimed at answering important questions for people who suffer from nerve pain due to diabetes and can be viewed and downloaded for free by visiting . Mathers is best known for portraying Theodore 鈥淏eaver鈥 Cleaver, the adorable boy on the classic television sitcom 鈥淟eave it to Beaver.鈥. Mathers, 62, is featured on the cover of the May/June issue of Neurology Now庐 magazine discussing his experience with diabetic nerve pain, a painful neurologic condition affecting millions of Americans.
Fellows of the American Academy of Neurology Thomas Chelimsky, MD, with Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and John Markman, MD, with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY, also appear in the video with expert advice to help patients and their families.
