News — Rockville, Md.—The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) announced the inaugural recipients of two new achievement awards recognizing reviewers and editors of ARVO's three journals ― IOVS, JOV, TVST ― in the areas of Excellence in Peer Review and Excellence in Editorial Service.
Recognizing the importance and dedicated service of the journals' reviewers and editors, the awardees selected are assessed in terms of overall workload, quality of work and responsiveness. The 2025 awardees are:

"These new journal awards acknowledge excellence in peer review and editorial support for the ARVO journals," says IOVS Editor-in-Chief Joseph Carroll, PhD, FARVO. "This type of voluntary service is vital to maintaining the quality of our journals, especially at a time of increasing submissions. As such, it is important that we recognize truly exceptional individual performance in support of our journals."
The awards will be presented on May 6 at the General Business Meeting held during the 2025 Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah.
