News — Toronto, January 6, 2025 – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation at a press conference Monday morning. Trudeau will continue as Prime Minister and Liberal Party leader until a new party leader has been chosen.
Trudeau also announced the prorogation of Parliament until March 24, 2025, ending all parliamentary business until the spring.
