"The measles vaccine allowed the public health and medical communities to eliminate measles in the U.S. by 2000, but measles is reemerging in the U.S. during this period of vaccine hesitancy. The decision not to receive the measles vaccine is placing the unvaccinated and the immunocompromised at increased risk for measles infection and its serious complications including death."
