News — Stacey Berner, M.D., the medical director of the Hand and Upper Extremity Center at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Md., is one of the country鈥檚 foremost hand surgeons. He has been recognized as a 鈥済reat hand and upper extremity surgeon to know鈥� by Becker鈥檚 Orthopedic & Spine Review.
In 2010, Dr. Berner became the first surgeon in the United States to perform a revolutionary new robotic hand surgery procedure using the da Vinci Surgical System; he used the system to repair the nerves in a man鈥檚 hand that was cut with glass. He has also developed pioneering new techniques in hand and wrist arthroscopy. Dr. Berner has lectured internationally and is widely published in peer reviewed journals.
