News — The  (JHSON) has been named a 2020 Best School for Men in Nursing by the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN). This is the second consecutive year the school has received this honor for creating an inclusive environment for men who want to become professional nurses or advance their nursing careers.

“We are proud of our efforts to build a diverse pipeline of nurses, particularly for our support of men who bring needed perspective and experience to our profession,” says JHSON Dean , PhD, MEd, RN, FAAN. “Especially now, our world needs competent and credentialed nurses across all genders, backgrounds, and experiences in order to provide the best health outcomes for the populations we serve.”

As the  program in the country by U.S. Â鶹´«Ã½ & World Report, JHSON fosters  and their relation to driving health care innovation and outcomes.

The school’s  student organization is an official chapter of the AAMN. The group hosts activities and events including career panels, mentoring opportunities, community outreach, and is actively involved in the school’s Open Houses, Accepted Students Day programs, new student orientations, and other key events.

In a recent  to highlight the role of men in nursing, JHSON featured male students, alumni, and faculty to show the opportunity men have in pursuing the scientific, dynamic, growing, and versatile career of nursing.

The school was recognized with the honor at the AAMN’s 45th annual conference on October 14.
