News — Indiana University’s online programs have again garnered high accolades in U.S. Â鶹´«Ã½ and World Report’s , with multiple programs in business, education and psychology ranking in the top five nationally.
For the fourth consecutive year, the IU Kelley School of Business’ online MBA program, , has ranked No. 1 in the country, including ranking in the top five in all five specialty categories.
The at the IU School of Education in Bloomington leaped to 20th place nationally, including ranking in the top 10 in all four specialty categories.
Additionally, through IU Online ranked first in Indiana and 19th nationally.
“This year’s rankings once again attest to the quality of IU’s faculty and our innovative approach to online education,” IU President Pamela Whitten said. “These high-quality programs are preparing our students to excel in their fields through a platform that opens the university’s doors to an even greater population seeking a top-ranked education.”
Kelley Direct was also recognized as the No. 1 online MBA program serving veterans this year.
The four other specialty categories that received top marks nationally at the IU Kelley School of Business are:
- General management, No. 1.
- Business and analytics, No. 2.
- Marketing, No. 2.
- Finance, No. 4.
This is the also sixth consecutive year that these four specialties have been recognized in the top five, which is every year since U.S. Â鶹´«Ã½ began to rank them within online MBA programs.
The four specialty categories to achieve top 10 national rankings at the IU School of Education in Bloomington are:
- Curriculum and instruction, No. 2.
- Educational/instructional media design, No. 3.
- Educational administration and supervision, No. 5.
- Special education, No. 7.
All of these specialties also ranked within the top 10 last year. U.S. Â鶹´«Ã½ began to rank specialties within online master’s degrees programs in education in 2020.
In addition to ranking 19th overall, IU’s online bachelor’s degree programs earned distinction in several subject areas:
- The online bachelor’s degree in psychology, offered through IU East’s Department of Psychology, ranked No. 6.
- The online bachelor’s degree in business administration, a collaborative program offered by IU’s five regional campuses, ranked No. 8.
IU’s online programs were also recognized for bachelor’s degrees serving veterans at No. 29. This rank is based partly upon the number of enrolled students who report as veterans or active military.
More than 1,600 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs were evaluated for this year’s rankings, using metrics specific to online learning. The rankings only include degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
This is the 13th year that U.S. Â鶹´«Ã½ has ranked online bachelor’s degree programs.
