Irvine, CA - The 2019 Distinguished Executive Commencement Speaker for the UCI Paul Merage School of Business commencement ceremony will be Cylance founder and CEO Stuart McClure. The ceremony, slated for Monday, June 17 at 9:30 a.m., will be held at the Bren Events Center on the UC Irvine campus.  Reza Sabahi, FEMBA ’09, a managing director at Wells Fargo Capital Finance, will serve as Distinguished Alumnus Mace Marshal.

McClure is a top expert in the computer security industry and has spent 25 years leading computer security operations for major companies, including McAfee/Intel Security and Kaiser Permanente, before he started Cylance.

“I am humbled by the honor of share insights from my experiences in the business world with the graduates from the UCI Paul Merage School of Business,” said McClure. “The business world is evolving incredibly fast — something I’ve seen firsthand in the computer security industry. Agile leaders are needed to guide and launch the companies of tomorrow, leaders who can capitalize on new opportunities and anticipate digital disruption. Those who graduate from the Merage School are prepared to do exactly that.”

McClure earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. He also holds numerous IT and security certifications.
