News — A fresh research conducted by Dr. Lucie Kvasni膷ková Stanislavská from Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague, and published in PeerJ Computer Science under the title 'Examining Twitter Communication on Corporate Social Responsibility: Sustainability, Climate Change, and Waste Management' reveals that social media plays an ever-growing role in corporate communication of CSR initiatives. The research examined more than 500,000 tweets spanning from 2017 to 2022, unveiling the primary subjects and patterns associated with CSR discourse on Twitter.

"Our findings assist businesses in crafting communication tactics that uphold the organization's presence as a socially conscientious entity and foster the administration of the company's image in alignment with the CSR ideology," state the authors. "The research also unveils prospects for additional investigations into alternative social platforms like Instagram or LinkedIn."

The research discovered that sustainability, climate change, and waste management emerged as the prevailing subjects discussed on Twitter regarding CSR, underscoring the escalating significance of environmental matters to corporations and their stakeholders. Nevertheless, the analysis further revealed that charity retained its dominant status as the primary topic, signifying that social impact continues to be a crucial focal point for businesses.

The examination also pinpointed trends of expansion and reduction in CSR communication on Twitter. ESG (environmental, social, and governance), social impact, and charity were identified as burgeoning domains, whereas green and philanthropy were recognized as diminishing in significance. The study's discoveries hold crucial implications for companies seeking to enhance their CSR endeavors and foster meaningful connections with their stakeholders.
