Â鶹´«Ã½ — The United States government needs to remain actively engaged to prevent a conflict between India and Pakistan that could escalate into a nuclear exchange, according to University of Illinois at Chicago terrorism expert Matthew Lippman. Lippman, a criminology, law and justice professor, says the planned attacks in Mumbai intended to weaken India, impede a warming of relations between India and Pakistan, and divert Pakistani military attention from terrorism to the Indian border.
