News — Irvine, CA - (Oct. 25, 2018) - The UCI Paul Merage School of Business climbed in The Economist’s 2018 , rising from 39th in the U.S. to 37th. Worldwide, the Merage School rose from 56th to 52nd.
“Our focus on preparing graduates to be leaders in today’s digitally driven business world has helped us differentiate our program,” says Jon Kaplan, assistant dean for the MBA and specialty master’s programs. “When you combine that with our continuous efforts to attract the best and brightest students and to provide them a one-of-a-kind experience, you start to see the rankings improve.”
Among universities worldwide, the Full-Time MBA program was ranked 15th for how alumni rate its career services, and 13th for the percentage increase in alumni salaries. Earlier this year, The Economist ranked the 20th in the U.S. and 30th in the world.
Those successes reflect the Merage School’s deep commitment to equipping the next generation of leaders for a world disrupted by digital technologies.
“Our team has done a great job of pivoting our curriculum to focus on how digital technologies are disrupting all aspects of the business world — not just in Silicon Valley, but across industries,” says Dean Eric Spangenberg. “Students recognize that, and they choose to come here. This climb in the rankings is evidence not only of our teaching excellence and outstanding career services, but of the caliber of students we’re attracting.”
The Economist’s rankings are based on student and alumni surveys, plus school data.
