News — Baltimore (April 24, 2025)—The American Physiological Society (APS) is pleased to announce , as the recipient of the 2025 . This honor recognizes an APS member for extended and outstanding volunteer service to the Society and the broader physiology community. The recipient is chosen each year by the current APS president from a pool of qualified nominees.

Kuebler is the director of and a professor in the Institute of Physiology at Charité–Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Germany. He has been an APS member since 1999 and has served the Society in numerous roles, including as chair of the Section Advisory and Physiology Summit Leadership committees. Kuebler is active in the Respiration Section, having served as chair of the section’s Scientific Programming Committee from 2008 to 2011 and as section chair from 2011 to 2014. He is the chair of the Publications Committee and a member of the APS Advisory Council. Kuebler’s dedication to the scientific community extends internationally: He is a past president of the German Society for Microcirculation and Vascular Biology and is the sitting vice president of the German Physiological Society.
