Inside School Research: Featured Cross-Blog
Some feedback from a Â鶹´«Ã½ subscriber today: “I got connected on [my] most recent blog post from one of your tips.”
The reporter, Sarah D. Sparks, writes for and blogs at .
Her latest post, sourced from a news release on Â鶹´«Ã½, covers the topic of parent-involvement and math education.
From her blog titled : “Researchers and policymakers have urged parents for years to read to their young children, even infants, to help them develop better vocabulary and reading readiness. Now, a new study by the University of Chicago suggests parents should be talking to their toddlers about numbers, too.”
Sarah goes on to describe the abstract learning that enables children to progress beyond mere counting. And she does a nice job raising the awareness needed among parents to aide their child’s achievement in math as well as in language.
