Amin Mirkouei is an associate professor of renewable and sustainable manufacturing in College of Engineering at University of Idaho, certified professional engineer (PE), experienced technologist, and sustainability contributor at Forbes Magazine. He has over 11 years of experience contributing and leading cross-disciplinary projects in decarbonization technologies, renewable materials, sustainable energy systems, design and manufacturing, cyber-physical control and optimization, and operations research, particularly renewable fuels, green chemicals, and rare earth elements and minerals from various waste streams, such as biomass feedstocks, plastics wastes, e-wastes, and animal manure. He is a major advisor in industrial technology, mechanical engineering, biological engineering, and environmental science programs at U of I in Idaho Falls, where he directs the Renewable and Sustainable Manufacturing Laboratory (RSML).
